The promise of a better future
Ending slavery
Freedom for our global family

What is freedom?
Freedom from what?
Who is it who wants to be free?
Is freedom possible in an interconnected world?

A prisoner wants to get out of his cell
A hurt woman out of a toxic relation
A depressive out of his depression
An addict out of its addiction

Once we are out, are we free?
Yes, for a while, we live the feeling of freedom
What a feeling it is!
The sweetest taste

It doesn’t last for long
Soon, we will reach the next border
Now we want more freedom
Tomorrow even more

Is freedom doing what we want all the time?
How could it be?
Is the search for freedom not an illusion?
That prevents us from experiencing interconnectedness

Can a drop be free of the ocean?
A leaf free of the tree?
Can a human be free of the human family?
Is our freedom the destruction of nature?

My freedom only makes sense if
Your freedom makes sense
My freedom is like the river running to the ocean
My freedom is doing what is necessary to make society a better place
